GeneaHub is a collaborative community based on mutual respect and selfless help. This code sets out the rules we must all follow.

We help without expecting anything in return. Generosity is the driving force behind our community.

We treat everyone with dignity, regardless of their experience or knowledge.
Honesty
We are transparent in our intentions and communication.
Patience
We understand that volunteers have their own schedules and priorities.
Expected Behaviors
- 11. Be kind and respectful
Use appropriate language. Remember that there is a real person behind every screen.
- 22. Be clear in your requests,
Provide all necessary information: dates, names, specific files.
- 33. Thank people for their help,
A simple ‘thank you’ goes a long way. Appreciate the time others spend helping you.
- 44. Reply in a reasonable time,
If a volunteer contacts you, reply as soon as possible. Silence is frustrating.
- 55. Rate fairly,
Ratings should reflect reality. Do not use the system for personal revenge.
- 66. Help others when you can,
If you receive help, try to give back to the community when you have the opportunity.
Prohibited Behaviors,
- ✗✗ Commercial use: Selling documents, offering paid services, or using the platform for profit.
- ✗✗ Harassment or intimidation: Aggressive messages, threats, or hostile behavior.
- ✗✗ Spam: Sending unsolicited or repetitive messages.
- ✗✗ Impersonation: Pretending to be another person or entity.
- ✗✗ False information: Providing fabricated or misleading data.
- ✗✗ System abuse: Creating multiple accounts, manipulating ratings, or exploiting bugs.
- ✗✗ Discrimination: Offensive comments based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, etc.
- ✗✗ Abusive cancellations: Accepting requests and repeatedly canceling them without reason.
Communication Rules
When communicating with other users:
- Introduce yourself briefly in your first message.
- Be specific about what you need or can offer.
- Do not share sensitive personal information (ID number, exact addresses, etc.).
- Keep conversations within the platform for security reasons.
- If there is a problem, try to resolve it politely before reporting it.
Report Problems
If you encounter behavior that violates this code, we encourage you to report it. You can do so via:

Consequences
Violations of this code may result in:
